Teams can collect data directly on printed GIS maps with Capturx for ArcGIS. They print maps on ordinary paper, bring them to the field, and mark them up with the digital pen. GIS data updates and redline annotations are stored on the digital pen and linked to the original GIS geodatabase. Docking the pen to the computer instantly updates the GIS database without any scanning or re-digitizing paper-based information.
Common forms for inspections and incident reports can be easily automated with Capturx Forms for Excel. Teams simply use new or existing forms with Excel, printed on ordinary paper. As forms are filled out in the field, digital copies are created and stored on the digital pen. Data from multiple team members is automatically converted and integrated into Excel in the right formats, for automated reporting and issue tracking.
Form data can also integrated into ArcGIS from Excel tables through a simple database join providing an easy way to collect rich attribute data into ArcGIS without the cost or time of scanning or transcribing data on paper.
