Adapx Closes $5M Investment to Fund Growth in Enterprise Software

All Existing Venture Capital Investors Participate in Funding as Adapx Surpasses 800th Customer Milestone

SEATTLE, WA--(Marketwire - May 20, 2011) - Adapx, the company that is changing the way mobile teams collect data and collaborate, today announced the closing of $5 million in new funding and that the company has surpassed the 800 customer mark. Participation in the new funding includes all existing venture capital investors -- OVP Venture Partners (Kirkland, WA), Paladin Capital Group (Washington, DC), and Pelion Venture Partners (Salt Lake City, UT). Strong customer growth for Adapx continues in both the enterprise and public sector where customers rely on Capturx software to instantly capture data from paper with digital pens to speed workflows and minimize paper handling costs and risk.

"We are pleased with the rapid growth of Adapx in just three years since introducing Capturx software," said Chad Waite, general partner at OVP Venture Partners. "The Capturx line of products for Microsoft™ Office, SharePoint, ArcGIS, ERP and CRM systems has fueled record growth in customers ranging from utilities and oil and gas firms to inspectors and insurance providers."

"Only Capturx enables teams to instantly digitize information as it's written and automatically integrate that data directly into Microsoft and other leading applications," said Chris Weber, Adapx board member, President of Nokia Inc. (US), and former Microsoft Corporate Vice President. "Enterprises want immediate and actionable access to data collected on paper by mobile workers, so they can speed up workflows without the extra time and cost of scanning, sending, and transcribing paper or deploying mobile computers."

In addition to expanding the Capturx product line for digital pens, Adapx will also use the funds to expand the Capturx multimodal product line used by the military for command and control (C2). Capturx products for C2 enable Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) teams to input data into digital mapping and other intelligence systems by simply sketching on paper, touchscreen devices, or by speaking as they sketch on wall displays. Adapx recently received an "Excellent" grade from US Joint Forces Command for automating field intelligence gathering in the Empire Challenge Annual Joint and Coalition Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Interoperability Demonstration.

"The significant productivity gains realized by customers using Capturx software have driven solid growth for Adapx, even in a poor economic environment," said Ken Schneider, CEO and Chairman of Adapx. "We are excited about accelerating that growth as the economy improves, workloads increase, and organizations continue to run lean."
