Q: Do the new versions of Pen Manager (2.5, 2.6) work with Capturx for ADR?
A: No, the new Pen Manager functionality of emailing ink files is not compatible with Capturx for Autodesk Design Review.
Q: Why does the Capturx Control Center cause a printer error and close the Print Tab?
A: This indicates a corrupted printer driver. To identify the corrupted printer, observe the Capturx Control Center initialization screen and note the printer that caused the error . This printer will be the last one scanned before the error. To fix this issue, either reinstall the printer driver or delete the printer and restart the Capturx Control Center.
Q: When I try to print, why do I get an error message or why does my print job fail?
A: Please check to make sure you have a valid network connection to the printer you are using. This can also occur if you are using more than one DWF viewer. The DWF viewer must be the Autodesk Design Review. Please uninstall any other DWF viewer on your system.
Q: When printing, I get a dialogue box that requests a DPI reduction and then a thread exception error.
A: If this occurs, shut down the Capturx Control Center and all of the other applications you have open, then restart the Capturx Control Center and try printing again.
Q: Why, if I start printing and then delete one or more of the files in the print queue, do these files continue printing even after I delete them from the Capturx Control Center?
A: If you need to delete a file, use the Delete button to delete the files in the queue prior to printing.
Q: I’ve uninstalled Capturx for Autodesk Design Review, so why does it still list the plug-in (without the flag icon) in the Plug-in Chooser Window?
A. This is a bug, but having the reference in the list will not cause any problems.
Q: Why does reinstalling Capturx for Autodesk Design Review leave the general Windows icon and the real Capturx for Autodesk Design Review icon in the Plug-in Window?
A: This is a bug, but having the reference in the list will not cause any problems.
Q: Clicking on the License Activation/De-activation link causes a “Fatal Error Occurred” message and states that the application will be forced to close (it doesn't close). Clicking on the general Windows icon that comes up after the box shows also causes this error.
A. Restarting the application will fix this issue.
Q: Why do I get inconsistent results when I do the following?
- I accidently set the wrong number of pages to print using the Pages section of the Print options.
- I click and drag on another line.
The line item that had the accidental entry displays an incorrect count (for example, print only page 2), but when printing it will print all pages entered.
A: To fix this issue, re-try the operation by selecting the correct number of pages to print.
Q: Why can’t I drag and drop a set of files onto Print/Files grid if the set contains a file with a non-DWF extension?
A: This operation won’t work with a non-DWF file in the set. Retry the operation with only DWF files.
Q: Why do I get an error and a message telling me to contact Adapx Customer Support when I do the following?
- I made a mistaken entry by entering the wrong number of pages in the “Only” field in Print Options section of the Print tab.
- I select New and then drag and drop a file into the blank grid or I select the Open button to open a print job.
A: This error can be ignored. No additional action is required, just select OK.
Q: When I cancel a print job, I get a confirmation message but the job continues to print.
A: The printing will continue until the printing action of the current file is completed.
Q: When I press F1 during printing, the Capturx for Autodesk Design Review online help comes up instead of Capturx Control Center online help?
A: This is a known error and will be fixed in the next release. Use the Help menu to access the Capturx Control Center online help.
Q: Why did only one large stamp appear when I created two separate stamps on the page?
A: You probably forgot to check the stamp icon on the palette a second time before you wrote on the page. Be sure to select the stamp icon on the Action palette each time before placing that stamp on the drawing.
Q: Why, when reviewing DWF Files, can’t I modify the “ReviewDateTime” field once it has been set?
A: This is a known issue and will be fixed in our next release.
Q: When I write text in opposite corners, the text gets enlarged and placed together in the middle of the page.
A: In order to create distinct text markups, you must separate the text by selecting the text icon for each markup prior to marking on the page.
Q: What is DWF and where can I learn more about it?
A: Design Web Format (DWF) is a secure file format developed by Autodesk for the efficient distribution and communication of rich design data to anyone who needs to view, review, or print design files. Because DWF files are highly compressed, they are smaller and faster to transmit than design files, without the overhead associated with complex CAD drawings (or the management of external links and dependencies).
With DWF functionality, publishers of design data can limit the specific design data and plot styles to only what they want recipients to see and can publish multisheet drawing sets from multiple AutoCAD drawings in a single DWF file. They can also publish 3D models from most Autodesk design applications.
