Capturx Instantly Converts Handwritten Notes, Sketches, and Mapping Into Digital Data, Enabling Federal Agencies to Access Time-Sensitive, Mission-Critical Information.
SEATTLE, WA--(Marketwire - March 3, 2008) - Adapx (http://www.adapx.com/) today announced an agreement with Lockheed Martin to market and sell the Capturx™ product suite to its customers.
Opportunities for data collection and distribution particularly within defense, intelligence and homeland security arenas are vast," says Lou Kratz, vice president of focused logistics at Lockheed Martin. "We are uniquely positioned to respond to our government's needs for reliable field data management solutions with a proven digital pen and paper software platform. "
Three Simple Steps Turn Ink into Digital Data
Capturx enables users to collect field data with the preferred method of pen and paper by:
1. Collecting information in the field using the digital pen to annotate drawings, maps or journals. The information is then converted to digital ink as it's written. 2. Uploading data directly from the digital pen to a computer system. Capturx seamlessly integrates with business-critical applications from Microsoft, ESRI, Autodesk, and more. 3. Integrating field notes and annotations with the original map, drawing, journal, database or form using software, which interprets the incoming data.
"Military field personnel are exposed to a variety of field situations, from extreme dust and wind to torrential rain and mud. Under these adverse conditions, it's a challenge to disseminate the mission-critical, time sensitive data collected during military operations. We are excited about developing such solutions for our customers with Adapx," explained Mike Thomas, president of Lockheed Martin's Global Security Solutions company.
"We are fortunate to have formed a strong relationship with Lockheed Martin that leverages our collective expertise to positively impact the work of some our nation's most important operations," said Ken Schneider, president and CEO of Adapx. "The Capturx product suite has the power to drastically simplify and streamline the data collection process, and ultimately advance the depth of decision-making among agencies by bringing relevant observations from the field to the office without any extra effort."
