Mark A. Maloney, Paladin

Mr. Maloney is a Co-founder of Paladin and a Managing Director of Paladin. He serves on the Paladin Capital Group Investment Committee of the Paladin Fund. He also serves as the firm's Chief Compliance Officer and Chief Marketing Officer. He is responsible for Paladin's new business development, client servicing, fundraising and compliance related activities.

Prior to co-founding Paladin, Mr. Maloney spent more than 18 years working in the financial services industry in a variety of executive level positions where he demonstrated a specialized competence in new business and product development, marketing and client servicing arenas. He had oversight responsibility for nearly $8 billion in assets, more than 350 clients and a staff of more than 50 people nationwide. Early in his professional career, Mr. Maloney worked for the United States House of Representatives. Mr. Maloney received his B.S. degree from Towson University in Towson, Maryland.

William Newman, Northwest Technology Ventures

William Newman is managing director at Northwest Technology Ventures, a $14 million Oregon seed fund focusing on technology-based startups and spinouts from the research sector in both life sciences and technology. In addition to Adapx, representative investments include Ambric, developing a novel semiconductor architecture; Receptor Biologix, developing receptor antagonists for cancer; and Artielle Immunotherapeutics, with an immunomodulatory platform based on recombinant receptor ligands.

Bill earned a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering and applied mathematics at Ecole Polytechnique in France prior to joining the research faculty at MIT, where he also earned an MBA from MIT’s Sloan School of Management. While at MIT he directed a joint program at MIT and the Harvard Medical School to develop cancer treatment modalities. Discoveries from that research resulted in patented inventions that formed the basis for two spinouts. He serves on numerous corporate boards, and on various academic and civic boards including chair of the Oregon Bioscience Association and Oregon’s Innovation Council.

Ken Schneider is the Adapx CEO and Chairman of the Board. Since joining Adapx, Ken has led the company’s transformation from a world leading natural user interface consulting firm and DARPA supplier to an award-winning provider of broader data capture and collaboration solutions in the cloud and on desktops for enterprises and the military.

Ken has more than 20 years of senior level P&L accountability and management experience in product management, marketing, business development and strategic planning, and product engineering delivery, for a wide range of venture backed technology companies and industry sectors. He served in several Senior Director level roles at Microsoft Corporation including MSN , Consumer Products Divisions, Platforms and Tools, and World Wide Sales and Marketing groups. He was responsible for the launch of Microsoft’s worldwide E-commerce platform as well. Ken was both president and founder of Advantage Factory, a Microsoft Certified Partner that provided professional services in program management, business analysis, business process re-engineering and delivering complex, case study level .Net, SOA and Microsoft server-based software engineering solutions to enterprise and federal customers.

He was President and Founder of Cognisoft Corporation, a web technology software applications company focused on the development of a suite of enterprise intranet/search products which was acquired by Verity Corporation. In addition he founded and served as chairman of the board for Smartpill Corporation, which developed an innovative non-invasive, medical device capsule technology for diagnosis of multiple disease states and disorders in the Human and Animal GI tract. Ken did his undergraduate work at the University of Oregon and has an MBA from the Pepperdine University School of Business. Ken has also held Director level product management and marketing roles at Nissan Motor Corporation and with the San Francisco Giants Baseball franchise.

Chad Waite joined OVP Venture Partners in 1987 and focuses on investments in the digital biology, and network security sectors. His investments include 4thPass, Accelerator, Adapx, Airgo Networks, Boston Beer, Cardima, CellPro, Complete Genomics, Corixa, Filenet, GenoLogics, Limerick BioPharma, Loudeye Technologies, NanoString, Napera Networks, ProTools, Quantum Medical, Raytel Medical, Returns Online, Rosetta Inpharmatics, SafeHarbor, Saros, Seattle Genetics, SignalSoft, Syntellect, Vantos, Verdezyne, Verity, and WatchGuard. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Accelerator, Adapx, Complete Genomics, GenoLogics, Limerick BioPharma, NanoString and Verdezyne, and is a Board Observer to Talyst.

Prior to joining OVP, Chad was a General Partner at Hambrecht & Quist Venture Partners where he focused on investments in IT and life sciences. Prior to H&Q, he was in marketing and sales management at Cobe Laboratories, Inc. in its cardiovascular medical products division.

Chad received his BA in History from Kenyon College and his MBA from Harvard Business School. He is a board member of the Washington Technology Alliance, a member of the Oregon Health Sciences University (OHSU) BSIF Advisory Board and a member of the University of Washington's Technology Transfer Advisory Board. He is a Trustee at Kenyon College and has also served as a board member of the NVCA. He is the proud father of three grown children, is an avid cyclist and snowboarder, and loves fine wine.

Ms. Condon joined Adapx' board to replace and at the recommendation of former board member Gen. Peter Chiarelli. Kathryn is a former Senior Government Executive with proven leadership, financial and public relations experience ideal for driving positive change in a large, diverse organization. She has sixteen years experience as a Department of Defense Senior Executive creating, overseeing and administering a broad range of policy, programs and operations including Interagency Coordinator for Military Support to Civilian Authorities for Homeland Security; the first civilian Army Assistant Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations; and the senior civilian for the Army’s industrial base, the US Army Materiel Command. Her last government position held was the Executive Director of Army National Military Cemeteries and while there she was recognized as the leader responsible for the complete turnaround of the intensely scrutinized, public scandal at Arlington National Cemetery prior to her appointment. Kathryn is currently serving as the Principal for Kathryn A. Condon & Associates, LLC, an independent agency that capitalizes on her years of extensive leadership experience in strategic planning, resource management, fiscal accountability, organizational redesign and dynamic ability to proactively drive positive change.
