If you use Capturx Forms Service (hosted by Adapx), you have access to the most recent version in the “Capturx Resource Center”. If you use a Capturx desktop application or on-premise Capturx server solution, and have Capturx Pen Manager 3.4 (or later), click on the arrow next to the Version number in the bottom right corner. Once you click on “Updates”, and then “Check for Updates”, you will see if an update is available.

Within Control Panel Programs, choose to repair the other Capture software programs.

Capturx for ArcGIS, Capturx for PDF and the Capturx Server Print Utility support the US version of Windows XP SP3, Windows Vista SP2, and Windows 7 (32-bit and 64-bit).

Capturx for OneNote can be used with the US version of Windows XP SP3, Windows Vista SP2, Windows 7 (32-bit and 64-bit) and Windows  8 (32-bit and 64-bit). Note: Capturx for OneNote software supports English only.  Once your pen data is downloaded into OneNote,  images of your non-English writing will be displayed. However, you will not be able to convert them to non-English text or search for non-English terms.

Starting with version 3.5, Capturx Pen Manger supports any locale of Windows XP SP3, Vista SP2, Windows 7* (32-bit and 64-bit), and Windows 8 (32-bit and 64-bit).

Capturx for Excel can run on U.S. English, Canada English and UK English versions of Windows XP SP3, Vista SP2, Windows 7 (32-bit and 64-bit), and Windows 8 (32-bit and 64-bit).

Capturx Forms Service and Capturx for SharePoint support standard and tablet PC versions of Windows XP SP3, Windows Vista SP2, Windows 7 SP1 for client (32-bit and 64-bit) and Windows 8 (32-bit and 64-bit).

Capturx for SharePoint requires an English Windows Server 2008 R2.

This may be caused if the pen is docked and the USB port is connected. Please un-dock the pen or remove the USB port cable and try again. If this continues, contact technical support at Adapx.

When the system starts, I see a dialogue box that says Pen Control Panel has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience… What’s wrong? Most probably, the Microsoft .net frameworks are not installed on you PC or have been corrupted. Capturx Forms for Microsoft Excel is available only to the individual who was logged onto the machine when the application was installed. In order for multiple users to access the application on the same machine, the application will need to be installed using the login credentials for each individual.

If the Capturx Tab does not appear, you open Microsoft Excel and restore the Tab by following the steps below: 1. Open Excel 2. Click the round Office Menu button in the upper left corner of the Excel Window, a panel will “pop up” 3. Click the Excel Options button at the bottom of the panel, a new window opens. 4. Click the Add-ins label in the left panel of the new window. A new panel appears in the window. 5. At the bottom of this panel is a drop down list labeled Manage. Select Disabled Items from the drop down list, and then click the Go button. 6. A new (dialog) window, titled Disabled Items, pops up. Capturx may appear in the list of disabled items. Select Capturx, and then click the enabled button. The dialog window will disappear, and you are back in the window with the drop down list labeled Manage. 7. Select COM Add-ins from the drop down list, and then click the GO button. A new (dialog) window, titled COM Add-ins, pops up. The Capturx for Microsoft Excel Add-in appears in the list; make sure the checkbox to the left is checked. Click the OK button. 8. You may have to close and reopen Excel to get the Capturx tab to appear in the ribbon.

No. By selecting “Remove” Capturx as an Add-in (in the Excel Options > Add-Ins > COM Add-ins), you will be required to re-install Capturx. If you need to disable the Capturx Add-in you can do so by: 1. Opening the Excel application. Then select "the Office Button." 2. Select "Excel Options" then "Add-Ins" then "COM Add-Ins" in the Manager drop down 3. Deselect the check box for Capturx Forms for Excel. This will disable the Capturx Add-in. Note: Capturx Forms for Excel needs to be installed to complete the process of disabling the Capturx Add-in.

This can result from having your computer or DB files set for compression. To ensure your DB files are not compressed: 1. Select the database folder causing the problem. 2. Make sure the Compress Folder option is unchecked. 3. Reboot your system and try installing or using the Capturx extension again. If the problem continues, contact Adapx technical support for help.
