Welcome to Capturx Pen Manager 3.3 software! Written for customers and partners, this document addresses issues that are not discussed in the User Guide. This document may be updated periodically as more information becomes available.

Versions of Capturx Pen Manager
Adapx recommends that all customers and partners on supported systems update to the most recent version of Capturx Pen Manager. Ensure that you have the latest version installed by opening Pen Manager and looking in the bottom right-hand corner.

Installation and Uninstallation

• Pen Manager 3.3 can be installed over a previous version. There is no need to uninstall first.
• For download and installation instructions, refer to the email sent from Adapx’s Technical Support team.

New Features and Enhancements in Capturx Pen Manager 3.3

• Faster performance when uploading ink from your digital pen to your PC
• Stored Ink feature for processing, exporting, emailing, or deleting ink which is on your PC and hasn’t yet been successfully integrated into a form, map, notebook, or PDF file.
       - Can save (export) the XID file to a computer or USB drive
• Customizable PIN so that you can create an easy-to-remember PIN for pairing your pen with a Bluetooth device.

Known issues

• Digital pen passwords can’t be longer than 22 characters. Before upgrading, check your password length. If it is longer than 22 characters, change to a shorter one. If you upgrade from a previous version without shortening your password, you will not be able to enter your full password.
• Digital pen passwords can’t contain non-English characters, such as é. Pen Manager will allow you to create a password with non-English characters, but you won’t be able to use the password to unlock Pen Manager, or to delete or change the password.
• On a PC with Pen Manager 3.3 installed, if you uninstall Capturx Forms for Excel, other Capturx applications will require a Repair (control panel) to work correctly.
• The following earlier versions of Capturx software are not compatible with Pen Manager 3.3: Capturx Markup for PDF 1.0; Capturx for ArcGIS 1.0 and 1.1; Capturx Notes for OneNote 1.0; Capturx Forms for Excel 1.0; and Capturx for Autodesk Review
