Release Notes: Capturx Forms Service and Capturx for SharePoint 2.4
Welcome to Capturx Forms Service and Capturx for SharePoint! Written for customers and partners, this document addresses issues that are not discussed in the User Guide. This document may be updated periodically as more information becomes available.
New Enhancements in Capturx Forms Service/Capturx for SharePoint 2.4
This version includes these updates:
o Printing Enhancements:
o A new printing utility that can function completely disconnected from the server after downloading a Capturx Print Job (*.cpj) file.
o The new utility also significantly improves the printing performance for large numbers of forms.
o Printing of non-blank prefilled forms is included in this release, allowing you to print—fill out form, then print that form again to collect a supervisor signature, for example. (Care must be taken when your business process includes multiple copies of the very same form being printed, since the physical copies will not be in synch with one another.)
o Duplex printing has been added to the list of choices for any print job.
o Corrected defect that prevented the page addresses for longer forms from being added to the log Capturx retains when the ink from those pages is processed.
o Fixed an Autonumber issue where, on rare occasion, numbers do not appear on the correct pages.
o Performance Improvements:
o This release supports the efficient processing of form activities by adhering to SharePoint’s recommended list view threshold (5,000 or fewer) on all lists supporting Capturx processing. We encourage you to enable the list view threshold on your forms’ lists as well. This will ensure that requests made on any of those lists will not result in sluggish performance for other users of the system. Contact Technical Support for assistance in ensuring that your views abide by the threshold your Capturx administrator sets.
o To avoid save conflicts, in 2.4 we have deprecated the 3 workflows (Add to Wordlist, Term Lookup, and Multi-Choice Checkbox) and replaced them with an alternative set of features. Technical Support has a tool to assist in your migration. Though you can continue to use the workflows, we highly recommend that you migrate to the new features instead.
o Improved performance of timer jobs by eliminating redundant services being activated and moving the default processing to 3AM to 4AM local server time.
o PDF export: During PDF export large amounts of memory could be allocated and not freed appropriately after use. This has been resolved. We also corrected a flaw that occurred when PDFs were exported in the very same moment. These routines are now thread safe.
o OData export: We now remove commas from floating point numerals when we export Capturx numbers via OData. We also replace other characters in Capturx field names that caused invalid OData responses.
o Archive Support: When Capturx Forms are removed from the system - for example as part of an external archival process - all internal Capturx data associated with that form (e.g., mapping of page addresses to forms, ink targeting that form, routing information for any ink targeting that form) is removed.
