REPORTS TO: SVP Sales and Business Development
SUMMARY: Responsible for achieving sales goals in assigned channels of distribution. Effectively manage account base through the use of integrated marketing plans, account management processes, and other sales support infrastructure.
PEOPLE: No direct reports.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Other duties may be assigned.)
• Identify and close opportunities in the Federal Sector in support of company’s goals;
• Competently represent the company’s products while consulting with prospective Federal customers;
• Provide key Federal segment input to assist in defining government sales and marketing tools;
• Develop sales strategy for each major account assigned and coordinate same to sales management;
• Effectively manage accounts by achieving customer satisfaction and revenue goals;
• Participate in/lead technical sales presentations and proposals;
• Participate in trade shows and conduct sales seminars as required;
• Develop and maintain excellent working relationship with customers, partners, and company;
• Provide accurate and complete sales forecasts;
• Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• Minimum eight years of Federal Sector account sales experience providing technical sales support in a software/hardware or equivalent experience in sales or consulting environment;
• Demonstrated track record of successful, direct, sales achievement within the Federal Sector to both DoD and civilian agencies;
• Technical degree in Computer Science or related field helpful, bachelor’s degree required;
• Excellent and demonstrated communications skills including: ability to read, analyze, interpret and report on general government, business, technical and professional journals or other documents including but not limited to request for information, request for quotes, white papers et al;
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedures and effectively present information to and respond to questions from customers, clients, and other associates;
• Ability to interpret a variety of written, verbal or diagrammed instructions;
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to work in a team environment;
• Computer skills including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
• Normal office environment with moderate noise levels, occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs., regular walking, sitting, bending, twisting, standing, and reaching;
• Significant telephone work;
• Ability to work to deadlines and under pressure;
• Ability to perform consistent work on PC;
• Travel up to 50% of time
